Our purpose is to form a community of gratitude as a spiritual discipline in response to the command to give thanks always and for everything (Ephesians 5:20). This is intended to be a sacred space where participants can feel safe sharing from the heart.

Grateful this Thursday for:

* successful Zoom meeting with marriage ministry

* waking up snuggled next to husband and sleeping in together

* the quietness that allowed me to hear birds singing outside

* food and shelter when I know others struggle for those things

* our health

I am grateful for:

--The Americans who welcome people of other races, countries, religions, and other minorities into our own lives.

--Two cards I got in the mail today from thoughtful friends.

--My books. I have a lot of them, fiction, non-fiction, children's, adult, cookbooks, gardening books, poetry.

--My sister. We are very different and not the best of friends. But we appreciate each other for what we do offer and share. In her case, she's been especially helpful to our aging mother.

--A wonderful photograph my cousin Gina took of her mom before she died -- a photo Gina shared with Mama, my sister and me this week.

--My oldest nephew who bought everyone's dinner at a family gathering for my daughter's 19th birthday and still gave her a generous gift.

Grateful for Zoom worship service, connecting with friends and family via various online platforms, the space to read, pray and write, being able to walk outside on this grey day, for food and shelter remembering others who have none.

Grateful today for a fabulous, fun time with family all over the US via zoom - so much laughter and connection!  Spending today as Sabbath, attending worship and church online, and enjoying the day of reflecting on God's faithfulness and goodness

On this Wednesday Morning I am thankful for:

  • losing/misplacing my phone which allowed me to see myself panic and facing the fears that settled into peace (phone is still not found)
  • the sunlight after two consecutive cloudy days
  • aroma of freshly made stew
  • bright green leaves that awaken me to the promise of renewed life
  • prayers that rise from my heart for friends/foes alike as I realize all being part of One Self
